Tab Display Errors

Guys and Gals -

Thanks for all your feedback about getting errors on tab pages.  Some of the errors we weren’t able to reproduce, but we’ll be pushing some changes live this afternoon that (hopefully) should fix some of the issues you’re seeing.

Let us know in the comments below if you’re still seeing tab errors after today (Wednesday, January 2).

Quick Update: We believe we have fixed this issue. If you continue to see errors on tab display pages, please let us know ASAP.

  2. RevMoolan says:

I am still having trouble seeing the tabs in most of the artists. It keeps telling me I’ve got a fatal error in a long website at line 168 (whatever that means). Not sure if this helps you, but overall, REALLY like the new website alot and I come back almost everyday to see what’s new. Keep up the good work!!!!

  3. Syxx says:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4 bytes) in /opt/vhosts/rebirth_12202007141616/system/database/drivers/mysql/mysql_result.php on line 168

Getting that trying to view tabs.

  4. Bill says:

Ok I guess that didn’t fix it – we’ll keep working on it and will keep you posted.

  5. Andy says:

Sorry about the issues – we’ve got a lot of data we’ve been moving in and out of the system in the past couple of weeks, and that’s caused some performance issues to arise with our database. I’ve just run some optimization and repair tools and we should be all good – please test things and give us some feedback as to what you’re seeing.

  6. Ken says:

    Yeah – the tab error
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 128 bytes) in /opt/vhosts/rebirth_01042008155202/system/database/drivers/mysql/mysql_result.php on line 168
is still happening. I’ll check back later.

  7. Rocking God says:

It’s the 6th of January and still no tabs. Just to give you an update on what’s going on with this issue.

  8. ZZ says:

I dunno if you guys thought u fixed it or not, but just to let you know i got it to.

  9. Bill says:

The latest update from Andy (our lead back-end programmer):

“I’m going to take the site down for about 45 minutes tonight in the wee small hours (like after 11p) to try and do some DB repairs that I can only make while the DB server is stopped. This should correct any of the lingering issues we might have with people getting database errors.”

So expect the site to be down for a short time tonight – but hopefully when it comes back online the tabs will be working.

This is a strange problem for us to solve, since we have not been seeing these errors on our end… but thank you all for sending us the error codes as they have been very helpful in trying to determine the cause of the problem.

  10. slowe says:

Uh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when I try to access tabs I now get this error message:
    Error Number: 126

Incorrect key file for table ‘/tmp/#sql_1477_4.MYI’; try to repair it

    SELECT tc.id, tc.submitted_by_id, tc.tab_id, tc.submitted_date, tc.comment, tc.status_id, tc.last_updated, u.user_name, l.title AS status FROM tab_comment tc, user u, lookup l WHERE l.id = tc.status_id AND u.id = tc.submitted_by_id AND tc.tab_id = ‘58764′ AND tc.status_id = 702 OR tc.status_id = 704 ORDER BY tc.id ASC

  11. Heath says:

Just letting you know, I can view tabs. Not sure if the rest of you guys have it fixed but for me, it works.

  12. snpalavan says:

i dont rly have any problems viewing any tabs either and oo!! idea!, perhaps have a hover over for the page number when browsing tabs i.e. ur on page one, it lists 1,2,3,4… when u hover over 1 it shows nothing (ur on tht page) when over 2, it shows (xxxx-xxxx) based on which artists are in there, tht way if i want to find a band with bl__ but i dont remembr the rest i can easily find it instead of going hmmm maybe page 5! nope ba ummmm 9! nope be :) just a thought

  13. Reaper says:

    hey,
im unable to log out. it keeps me logged in after i click log out. it brings me back to the login page, but in the top right corner it says im still logged in. When i refresh the page, i’m still logged in.

  14. snpalavan says:

on some of the letter browsing if you go past a certain page, it doesnt show anything and doubles up the numbers. I noticed it when looking at H, after page 5 it just messes up, also on M only page 1 works, either if u press the next page button or the actual number itself. I cant tell if its just because there is no band on tht page or if its just an error, are the numbers supposed to b there if theres nothing there?

  15. Syxx says:

    @snaplavan

just came on to report the same thing. it’s a weird bug though while browsing c the only pages that don’t show up are 16 and 26. f doesn’t show up at all. pages 20-27 don’t show up on a but 28 does.

if you notice all pages have the pages numbers listed at the top before and bottom after the tabs display so that’s why you see the numbers doubled up because they are appearing right beneath each other since their are no tabs being shown between them.
