Get Your Fix of Heavy Metal Guitar, Bass & Drum Tabs on MXTabs.net

We know you want them. We know you need them… bad. So we’re gonna give them to ya! We’re talking about your favorite heavy metal guitar, bass & drum tabs from all of your favorite heavy metal bands. What follows is a tip of the iceberg, adrenaline fueled, whirlwind tour of metal song tabs available on MXTabs.net. This is by no means an exhaustive list. MySpace Diaries: Part Three CSS and Strangers!

In the MySpace Diaries Part Two, I attempted to customize my profile to no avail and added friends from my email contacts list. After sending my inquiry to MySpace about customizing a musician’s profile, I continued to dig through the site for an answer and found two things – first of all, there is an FAQ regarding MySpace Music profiles specifically, found in the left sidebar at http://www.myspace.com/aplaceformusic. While the FAQ here did not answer my question, it does have helpful answers... [Continue Reading]

Oscar Roundup: The Hives & Songs Featured in the Movie “The Wrestler”

Did you happen to catch the Oscars last night? And did you see that cool montage of action scenes from 2008’s best movies? It was pretty sick, in large part to the hard hitting music playing in the background: a song called Tick Tick Boom by The Hives. If you’d like to learn to rock this song out, be sure to take a look at this Guitar Tab of Tick Tick Boom by The Hives. While you’re at it, why not check out the rest of The Hives Guitar, Bass & Drum Tabs available on MXTabs.net. And... [Continue Reading]

Sheriff Picks: Guitar Tabs of Music from the 1990s

So, I was born in 1980. For all you math whizzes out there, that means that I was 10 years old when the 1990s began and 20 years old when the decade ended. As I’m sure you know, those are very impressionable years of a person’s life, and although my musical tastes have continued to evolve, I think it’s fair to say that I’m a product of the 90s music scene. As such, you will find a lot of Grunge and Alternative Rock on today’s Sheriff Picks: Song Tabs of Music from the... [Continue Reading]

MySpace Diaries Part Two: How to Create a Profile

Last time I wrote about the importance of MySpace, but now it’s time to make a profile! Go to http://myspace.com, and click on “Sign Up” in the right sidebar. Look at the right sidebar again and click on “If you’re a musician, sign up here.” This is important – if you don’t get a musician’s profile, you won’t be able to upload your music. You can’t convert one profile type to another, and you can’t create multiple profiles with... [Continue Reading]

MySpace Diaries Part One: Why You Should Care About MySpace

“making a myspace music page. Gross.” After posting these words on Twitter, I was invited to write the blog post you’re currently reading. Lesson number one: social media clearly brings opportunities that wouldn’t exist otherwise. So in addition to a MySpace page, go get yourself a Twitter account! You can follow me there if you like: @candybilyk. (Note: you can follow MXTabs on Twitter, too! @mxtabs) In all seriousness, if you are in a band or make music of any kind that... [Continue Reading]

Sheriff Picks: Guitar Tab of Anti-Love Songs

WARNING: This post is not for happily married couples, significant others who merrily hold hands as they waltz down the street, or young lovers who affectionately call each other “princess” and “cutesy face.” No, this post is for those who have recently gone through a messy breakup (is there any other kind?), or are victims of unrequited love – you know, “she’s just not that into you,” – that sort of thing. I mean, I suppose if you’re in... [Continue Reading]

Taboo: A Free ASCII Drum Tab Editor

Happy Monday, folks! Today we’re glad to welcome back MXTabs.net Forum Moderator pie21, who back in December wrote a wonderful post about How to Read a Drum Tab that Uses ASCII Text. Since that time he’s been hard at work developing his very own drum tab editor – called “Taboo” – and today he’s ready to share his creation with the rest of the MXTabs.net community. Be sure to check it out – Free Download of Taboo: An ASCII Drum Tab Editor. What Is... [Continue Reading]
