Earlier this fall, famed 1990s indie rockers Pavement announced that they would reunite for a benefit concert in September of 2010, also leaving open the possibility of more shows throughout that year (see Rolling Stone article: Pavement Reunion Confirmed for 2010: “It Happened Naturally” Says Kannberg in Exclusive Interview). Since then, besides getting all riled up over the mere possibility of seeing Pavement live, I’ve been searching around to see what other bands from the past (or, should I say blasts from the past) might be reuniting and touring.
Well, apparently we’re in the midst of some kind of “reunion tour renaissance,” because there are literally dozens of bands – some old, some not-so-old – that are rejoining forces and hitting the road once again. What follows is a sampling of some of these reunited bands. Included is a link to song tabs of the band, as well as a link to concert ticket information for their current reunion tour. Check ‘em out:
Pavement
Phish
Stone Temple Pilots
The Stone Roses
Pink Floyd
The Eagles
Sugar Ray
Led Zeppelin
In addition to these confirmed tours, there are several other high-profile bands that are rumored to be reuniting as well, most notably Soundgarden & The Smiths. Although there isn’t any ticket info available just yet, you can view their song tabs here:
Finally, if anyone has seen one of these bands on their current reunion tour, I’d love to hear your impressions of the concert. Did they play a “greatest hits” setlist? Or did they mix in some new material? Did they sound fresh & inspired? Would you recommend seeing them live?
