Today we put live the last bit of additional functionality that will be added during the alpha version of MXTabs. (There’s more functionality coming, but it’s in our closed beta and won’t be publicly unveiled until the launch on July 1st). The new functionality is the MXTabs “friends” system. We call it Bandmates. Basically when you’re viewing someone’s profile (and you’re signed in), you can click the “Add Me” link below their image to... [Continue Reading]

The End of MXTabs.net Pre-Launch Alpha Changes
Within the next 24 hours we expect to do our final publish of changes for the Alpha version of MXTabs. Once this happens, the site will continue to be available in the open alpha at www.mxtabs.net, but there won’t be any additional changes available to the public until we launch the official site on July 1st. In the meantime we’ll be busy finishing up the facelift and adding in the last remaining features for the site and community. All of this new work will be going on in a closed beta... MXTabs.net Facelifts
As the launch date for MX gets closer, we’re working our tails off trying to get everything finalized for the “official” launch of the site. As we mentioned previously, we have four new people cranking through all of the data they can – and it’s getting thousands of new songs up weekly. Our programmers are busy finalizing the “community” features that we think will be the glue that ties everything in the site together to make the new MX the best tab experience... [Continue Reading]
Limbo, Community Tab Approvals
You may have noticed a new tab at the top of the site for “limbo.” This is our new tab moderation system. After tabs are submitted to the site and approved through our licensing channels, they then go into “limbo” which is our community moderation system. Basically, go into limbo and look at the tabs that are waiting to go the site. If you think the tab is good enough to be part of MX, click the “Accept” icon. If you think it isn’t good enough, click “deny.” There’s... [Continue Reading]
Tab Displays Expanding to Additional Countries
Today we implemented our first test of displaying tabs outside the United States. If you are outside the United States, please click the following link to see if you can display the tab it links to. We’re in the U.S., so it’s a little hard for us to test it ourselves. wink.gif Please then leave a comment here to let us know if it works or not, and what country you are in. http://www.mxtabs.net/view/tab/79466/johan…uite_for_cello/ Read More →
Tab Moderators Needed
Over the last few weeks we’ve been busy working on the new MXTabs Tab Submission system. It’s getting pretty close to complete, which means we are going to need some members to help out as tab moderators. Being a tab moderator on the new MX is going to be a little different from being one on other tab sites (or the previous MXTabs, for that matter). The job of a tab moderator for the new version of MXTabs is mostly to determine if a tab is really for the song the submitter says it is,... [Continue Reading]
Blogs and Media Galleries
Today we have launched our user blogs and media galleries. These are new, so there are likely going to be some kinks to work out. Also, we are going to start posting our blogs in this blog rather than the old MX rebirth blog, so that the one we use is more directly integrated into the regular user site. Let us know what you think of these new additions. Read More →
MXTabs User Blogs
Well, we promised it and now it’s here. Users now have the ability to have their own blogs at MXTabs. Just like when we launched the forums, there are likely to be a few things here and there that may need fixing or changing, so just let us know. We’re definitely coming along with our community… and there’s still quite a bit more coming soon. Stay posted. Read More →
